Get Ahead of New Weeds
Pre-emergent is all about timing. It is applied before certain weeds have a chance to come up through the lawn.
That means you will not necessarily see weeds when the treatment goes down. The point is to have it in place before targeted weed seeds begin growing.
Pre-emergent does not control every type of weed, and it will not control weeds that are already up. Those need a different approach.

Once weeds are growing, post-emergent treatment comes into play.
The treatment depends on what is growing and the type of grass you have. Some weeds respond fairly quickly. Others are stubborn and take more than one treatment to get under control.
Weather matters too. A weed treatment may work differently during a stretch of hot, dry weather than it does under better growing conditions.

There is no complicated routine between visits. Keep up with normal lawn care and let us know if something changes.
Keep Watering Normally: Follow any watering instructions left after your treatment. Do not add extra water just because the lawn has been fertilized or treated for weeds.
Mow at the Right Height: Mowing height depends on the grass. Texas A&M recommends roughly 1.5 to 3 inches for common Bermuda, 2.5 to 4 inches for St. Augustine, and 1 to 2.5 inches for many Zoysia lawns. Avoid removing more than about one-third of the grass blade at a time.
